According to the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), India and Mexico have signed an agreement for capacity building in space during the Foreign Office Consultations (FOC). A specific cooperation agreement on cooperation in outer space focusing on crop monitoring, drought assessment and capacity building was also signed between ISRO and Mexican Space Agency (AEM) during the FOC.
The full spectrum of bilateral ties was discussed during the meeting, including politics, trade and investment, health and pharmaceuticals, science and technology, including space, culture and tourism, education, consular matters, and other areas of shared interest.
The Indian side was led by Mr. Saurabh Kumar, Secretary (East), Ministry of External Affairs, while Mr. Carmen Moreno Toscano, Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Mexico, headed the Mexican side. The initial market for the products will be India, with plans to expand to global markets later.
Both sides agreed to hold the next round of consultations in a friendly and warm atmosphere at a mutually convenient date in New Delhi.
