An uncommon case of 15 years old women with no history of any particular disease came to Renova Hospital, Langarhouze, Hyderabad, with a complaint of cyclical abdominal pain since last 6 months.
Thorough clinical examination by Dr.Venkat Reddy, Consultant Obstetrician & Gynaecologist, Dr. Padmavathi Kapila, Chief Consultant Obstetrician & Gynaecologist from Gynaecology department of Renova Hospitals was performed on the young women.
Further the woman was asked to undergo Ultrasound and MRI scans on her reproductive organs including Vagina along with urinary tract. Doctors found very interesting facts after going through scan results.
During the normal clinical observation, the outer layout or morphological features of outer development of Vagina seems to be normal and her secondary sexual characters, organs have been well developed.
But on detailed examination, they found that Vaginal opening of the women was obstructed by a 4-inch-thick layer of tissue that is closing the entry point of vagina.
Due to which the fluids generated in the reproductive tract were obstructed by the wall and the bad fluid got accumulated inside. Doctors found and came to the conclusion that the accumulated fluid is causing severe pain for the women in the abdomen.
According to medical experts such conditions may develop in one among thousand women due to improper development of organs during fetal development. Such scenarios may also happen when she is in the womb of her mother or else due to genetic reasons, they found.
During the surgery, the doctor’s team has created a vaginal opening by removing the 4-inch-thick tissue layer that was obstructing the pathway. Later they have also done Neo Vaginal Creation along with separating Vagina, Urinary Tract and Anus properly.
Once the opening was created, the doctors have drained out the accumulated bad fluids in vaginal tract of the women that was the cause of the pain. The surgery that took mere 60 minutes was performed by ensuring minimal loss of blood for the patient. Due to which she recovered well within three days and was discharged from the hospital. She is now leading a healthy life without any health issues.
The doctor’s team has conducted a limited media interaction with select journalists to reveal the details of such a rare case today in its premises.
