Nationalist Congress Party MLA Saroj Ahire Wagh attended the Maharashtra Assembly session with her two-and-a-half-months-old baby on Monday. The MLA from Nashik was accompanied by two members of her family.
The winter session of the Assembly began in Nagpur on Monday amid the intensifying boundary dispute between Maharashtra and Karnataka. Speaking to reporters before entering the Vidhan Bhavan, Ahire Wagh said the winter session is a time to raise concerns of constituencies and people of the state.
“I am a mother and a people’s representative. For the past two-and-a-half years due to corona pandemic, no assembly session has been held here in Nagpur. I am a mother now, but to put my points and to raise questions, I have come here to get answers for my voters,” she said. Ahire Wagh delivered a baby boy on September 30.
