More than 9,000 students, teachers, and academics were harmed, injured, or killed in attacks on education during armed conflict over the past two years, according to Education under Attack 2022, a 265-page report published today by the Global Coalition to Protect Education from Attack (GCPEA). While the cost of cultivation has increased in India by almost 35 per cent between 2012-13 and 2018-19, the share of the income from cultivation in an agricultural household has gone down from 48 per cent in 2012-13 to 37 per cent in 2018-19.
