BJP’s national general secretary and Telangana incharge Tarun Chugh has strongly condemned the attack on Praja Sangrama Yatra unleashed by the TRS goons at Devaruppala village in Janagaon district on Monday. He said it was an attack on democracy and an attack on freedom of expression largely engineered by vicious forces patronised by the KCR government.
He lamented that it is evident that KCR is nervous and is feeling shattered with the mammoth support that the BJP Praja Sangrama Yatra has been getting from the people. KCR perhaps is thinking that with the attacks of goons he would be able to intimidate the BJP supporters and stop the yatra, he added.
Chugh said he would want to make it emphatically clear that the yatra would go on, no matter what KCR or the TRS goons would do and the yatra will finish its third phase soon.
In the coming 200 days, he said that the BJP wants to reach every village and all nooks and corners of Telangana to expose the anti-democratic policies, to expose the corrupt, dynastic rule of KCR and the TRS government. He deplored that iIt is also unfortunate that the police, who are supposed to respect and protect the emocratic rights of every citizen, are acting in a partisan manner.
Chugh lamented that when the TRS goons were attacking the Yatra, police remained mute spectators. Police not merely remained mute spectators, but showed their ire on BJP workers. “I strongly condemn the partisan attitude of the police and advise them to conform to their constitutional mandate. Do not be a ‘darbari’ (employee of a court), but be an ‘adhikari’ (an officer who abides by constitution)”, he added.
He is confident that the political atmosphere in Telangana is very fast changing. Accusing that KCR is holding the reins of power with force, he said however forcefully KCR would hold the reins of power, the power would slip away from him with the same force since Telangana people have decided to say ‘bye-bye’ to KCR sarkar.
As BJP is emerging stronger in Telangana, there have been a series of joining from all political parties TDP, TRS and Congress, he said.
