Stage is set for the launch of fourth phase of Praja Sangrama Yatra of Telangana BJP  president Bandi Sanjay Kumar from September 12, All arrangements have been made for the padayatra of Sanjay, which would pass through the parliamentary constituency of Malkajgiri. In view of the Ganesh Nimajjanam and Vijayadasami Navaratri festivities, the padayatra would be confined to 10 days.

Padayatra Pramukh Dr G Manohar Reddy told reporters that the padayatra will begin at 10.30 am at Chittaramma temple at Qutbullapur, where Sanjay would perform special prayers. Before embarking on the yatra, Sanjay would address a public meeting at Ramlila grounds at 11 am, which would be attended by BJP national general secretary Sunil Bansal.

The BJP state president would walk through Qutbullapur, Kukatpalli, Secunderabad Cantonment, Malkajgiri, Medchal, Uppal, L B Nagar and Ibrahimpatnam assembly segments during this 10-day padayatra, which would conclude on September 22.

“There would be a public meeting near Pedda Amberpet outer ring road and it would be attended by national-level BJP leaders. The venue and the names of the leaders would be finalised shortly,” Reddy said.

So far, Sanjay had walked through 40 assembly constituencies and taking the fourth phase of padayatra into account, he would be covering in all, 48 assembly segments.

The BJP leader said the government had created several hurdles in the third phase of padayatra of Sanjay in a bid to foil the same. The police had resorted to blatant lies and cancelled the permission given to the padayatra, besides arresting Sanjay.

“The TRS goons attacked the BJP leaders’ vehicles and injured the party workers. Yet, Sanjay approached the high court to get the permission for continuing the padayatra and completed the same within one and a half days,” he said.

Reddy said since the fourth-phase of padayatra would be passing through three police commissionerates, the party had applied for permission in the three regions. “So far, we have not got any permission but we feel it is deemed to have been given,” he said.

The BJP leader said compared to other regions, there were different issues confronting Hyderabad and its surrounding areas – such as incomplete double-bedroom houses, non-allocation of Rajiv Swagruha houses, traffic issues, damaged roads, pollution, encroachment of lakes etc.

Besides the civic issues, the BJP state president would also take up issues like indiscriminate collection of tuition fees in private educational institutions, lack of facilities in the government hospitals and reduction of VAT on petroleum products.
