Railways ‘SPHOORTHI’, Child Rehabilitation Centre in Vijayawada

Dr. Jaya Mohan, President, SCRWWO, Vijayawada inaugurated ‘SPHOORTHI’ Child Rehabilitation Centre, (opposite to Railway Hospital, Vijayawada).

Dr K. Sarada Srinivas, Smt. D. Sridevi, Vice Presidents, SCRWWO Dr. Sitharam, ACMS and Dr. P. Nataraj, Paediatric Neurologist, Anu Hospitals were also present. This Child Rehabilitation Centre run will help in over all development of Children suffering with developmental disorders, autism and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorders(ADHD).

Speaking on the occasion, Dr Jaya Mohan said that it is a moment of pride and honour for supporting the kids suffering with autism, speech delay and other developmental disorders. She said that Pandemic affected the mutual interactions especially among kids and lead to over indulgence with mobile phones, creating several behavioural problems in kids.

Dr Jaya Mohan said that this Child Rehabilitation will be offering services like Speech therapy, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy and Paediatric Neurology and in coming days cognitive behavioural therapy shall also be provided.  She also said that the rehab centre is open for Railway employee’s kids, outsiders and thanked Dr. M. Srilakshmi, CMS and Dr. A. Padma, DMO for the support extended in setting up this Child Rehabilitation Centre.

Dr D. Sitharam, ACMS said that Child Rehabiliatation Centres are very much essential in today’s world. He said that Child rehab helps in improving the self confidence, self esteem which would be a game changer for kids. SPHOORTHI would be very much beneficial for Kids of Railway employees suffering with autism, ADHD and Speech delay issues by paying nominal fee, he added.
