BJP general secretary and Telangana in charge Tarun Chug said that CM KCR has lost confidence of the people of Telangana and he e is completely rattled with the massive support that the BJP is getting in Munugode. His speech at Chndur public meeting reflected his sense of frustration, he added.
Stating that KCR’s desperate appeals to the people foreground his fear of losing the election, he said that in a way he had already conceded the defeat. He appealed to the wise voters of Munugode to expose the theatrics of KCR and defeat the TRS and elect BJP candidate K.Rajgopal Reddy to save Telangana from the corrupt dynastic rule.
He deplored that KCR is stooping too low to confuse the people of Telangana just for a bye-election. Ironically, he said that he talks about values in democracy, but he himself spear-headed desecration of democracy by attempting to misuse official machinery and political power at Munugode.
The BJP leader said that KCR’s speech at Chudur of Munugode Assembly Constituency was grossly misleading and malicious. Firstly, he pointed out that KCR had deployed all his MLAs, MPs and Ministers in the constituency with huge funds, who have been trying to woo the voters.
KCR has realised that it is not working as the politically conscious Munugode voters wouldn’t succumb to money or other enticements. When he has been able to see the defeat staring at him, Tarun Chug alleged that he unveiled a drama of buying MLAs and KCR had himself written the script and screen play for the drama which fell flat.
He said that the story itself has many holes. The MLAs were kept away from the public gaze and suddenly in a dramatic move they were flown by CM’s Helicopter and demonstrated before the people of Munugode. They were taken away soon after the meeting in the Helicopter.
Why is the Chief Minister scared? Why is he not allowing the MLAs to move freely and to come before the media? He asked and said that there is certainly something that the Chief Minister is hiding from the people.
Tarun Chug lamented that KCR undoubtedly fabricated video and audio content to confuse the people without realising that the politically awakened people of Telangana would not believe such false narratives.
The BJP leader asserted that KCR’s allegation that the BJP tried to buy MLAs is false. In fact, he has encouraged defections, which has been evident. He effected over 16 defections of MLAs from Congress, TDP etc. Some of them were made ministers.
