BJP demanded fast-track court to probe Nagaraju’s murder

Telangana BJP president Bandi Sanjay demanded setting up of a fast-track court to probe the case of murder of 25-year-old Dalit youth B Nagaraju, who was brutally murdered in full public view at Saroornagar on the night of May 4 for marrying a Muslim woman.

Sanjay, who called on the family members of Nagaraju at S Marpally village of Vikarabad district on Monday, described chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao as the most inhuman character, who had not responded to the ghastly murder of Nagaraju.

“Though the National Commission for Scheduled Castes has directed that the government pay ex-gratia of Rs 8.5 lakh to the victim’s family, besides a house and job to his wife, the chief minister has not taken any action so far,” he regretted.

Sanjay sought to know why KCR had not called on the bereaved family of Nagaraju. “What has his government done when a Dalit Hindu was butchered on the road just for marrying a Muslim girl? What has happened to the so-called Dalit organisations and secular outfits? Have they not seen the agony and poverty of Nagaraju’s family members?” he asked.

The BJP president lamented that KCR was not bothered about the brutal murder, as he was scared of the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen. “Do we have a home minister in the state? I was told even the police department doesn’t know who the home minister is,” he said.

Sanjay called upon the Dalits to realise the style of functioning of KCR and pull him for his inaction, when atrocities are being perpetrated against them.

He said the family members of Nagaraju were worried that they would also be targeted if the accused was out of jail on bail. “The BJP would stand by the family and take every care to protect them,” he assured.

Refusing to accept it as an honour killing or a fallout of the dispute between two families, Sanjay said it was definitely an act of Muslim terrorists to create a fear psychosis among the Hindus.

“When a Dalit youth was murdered in Miryalaguda a few years, ago, these so-called progressive organisations made a hue and cry. But they have remained silent when Nagaraju was brutally killed by a Muslim. Why are they not questioning the Muslim youth who are trapping Hindu girls in the name of Love Jihad?” he asked.

He sought to know why three other accused, who were involved in the murder of Nagaraju, were not arrested so far. He also demanded a probe into the alleged involvement of TRS leaders in the murder.
