BJP Sate president and Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy asserted that BJP was committed for the ABCD categorisation of SCs, which was a pending issue for the last seven and half decades. He said that the Center had done a lot of exercise before Prime Minister Narendra Modi announcing at Parade grounds recently.
Kishan Reddy said that the constitution of committee is aimed a speeding the process and day today monitoring of the case in seven member judges bench and not to decide whether to go for categorisation or not.
“The issue was taken to the notice of Prime Minister Narendra Modi when he visited Warangal on July 8th. Madiga Reservation Porata Samithi (MRPS) president Manda Krishna met Prime Minister and explained the issue. Modi said he would look into the issue”, he said.
He also said that Party president JP Nadda and Home Minister Amit Shah held a meeting with party leaders, besides MRPS leaders, intellectuals and others met Home Minister at New Delhi on October 2nd and held discussions with them.
Recalling that the two contradictory judgements were delivered by two five-judge member benches one stating that it was not necessary and another in favour categorisation, Kishan Reddy said that the bench that favoured the judgement has suggested to constitute seven- member judges constitutional bench to address the issue.
“Soon after the meeting with MRPS activists on October 2nd, Solicitor General Tushar Mehata requested Chief Justice of India to constitute a seven- member constitutional bench to address the issue. On October 10th the seven-member bench was constituted. Notices were issued to all the stake holders to submit their written submissions before December 14th. We are committed for ABCD reservations and we had taken the responsibility on our shoulders,” he added.
He accused that never Congress or BRS in the state tried to address the issue but only extending lip service. “Prime Minister spoke as a social activist on the dais. Modi can do anything. He has addressed Tripple Talaq, Rama Janma Bhoomi, Article 370 and several other issues”, he said.
“BJP will stand by its word. Think about this before casting your vote. We are promising to make BC as a Chief Minister of Telangana. Let us give a chance to them. It will never happen in the case of BRS or Congress,” said Kishan Reddy and appealed the voters to vote for BJP.
