Pooh-poohing the plan of Telangana chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao to launch a new national party, BJP state president and MP Bandi Sanjay Kumar said even if the TRS president floated an international political party, there are no takers for him.
“It is ridiculous on the part of KCR to claim that he is getting suggestions to convert the TRS into Bharatiya Rasthra Samithi (BRS). Who is stopping him? If he wants, he can even launch ARS (Antarjateeya Rashtra Samithi). The fact is that the people have already decided to give him VRS (voluntary retirement scheme),” Sanjay said, while speaking to media at his payatra camp at Vutkuru village in Narayanpet district.
Stating that KCR was coming out with such crazy ideas only to pass time, sensing his impending defeat in the assembly elections, the BJP president said KCR had no takers for his third front idea and hence, he was enacting a new drama in the name of national party.
Sanjay said there was nothing for the TRS leaders to discuss about the KCR’s government at its plenary and hence, the chief minister had spent most of his time to attack the BJP and the Narendra Modi government at the Centre. “He is obviously pissed off on seeing the tremendous response to our Praja Sangrama Yatra,” he said.
He reminded that when the entire world, including British Prime Minister, US president and Israel premier had praised the Narendra Modi government for his efforts to make India a world leader. “But our chief minister says he will show a new direction to the country, as if he has achieved something great in Telangana,” he added.
Recalling KCR’s statement that Telangana is a cash-rich state, Sanjay sought to know why the chief minister had borrowed Rs 4 lakh crore and imposed a huge burden on the people. “If we are a rich state, why are you not able to pay salaries to the employees and pensions to the pensioners on time? Why have you increased power tariff and RTC fares abnormally?” he asked.
He alleged that while the people of Telangana were crushed under the debt burden, KCR and his family members had amassed huge wealth running into thousands of crores.
“In the name of redesigning of Kaleshwaram project, KCR has looted crores of rupees. Even the cost of Palamur-Ranga Reddy district was escalated from Rs 1400 crore to Rs 70,000 crore. But there was no additional benefit to the farmers under these projects,” he said.
He reminded that KCR had faced a CBI inquiry in the Sahara and ESI scams for looting thousands of crores when he was the Union labour minister. “Is it not true that there are corruption allegations against his own cabinet ministers?” he asked.
Sanjay said KCR had the notoriety of ruling the state without coming to the secretariat in the last eight years. “If he gets an opportunity to rule the country, one wonders he might rule the state sitting in his farmhouse,” he said.
