A total of 12 employees of Vijayawada Division, South Central Railway including one Officer and 11 staff members, have been shortlisted for the prestigious Vishisht Rail Seva Puraskar-2023 for their meritorious and dedicated services.
The second highest honour for a railway employee, the Vishisht Rail Seva Puraskar presented at the General Manager level, was conferred upon the awardees on Friday in Secunderabad on the occasion of the 68th Railway Week Zonal Function.
Arun Kumar Jain, General Manager, South Central Railway presented the awards to the awardees. He congratulated the officials and staff who have been selected for the Vishisht Rail Seva Puraskar and Efficiency Shields, and appreciated their commendable performance.
Vijayawada Division has been selected as winner of the overall General Manager’s Overall Efficiency Shield jointly with Secunderabad Division, along with 10 other Shields: Finance (Accounts) – Vijayawada Division, Commercial – Vijayawada Division, Best Diesel/Elec. Loco Shed – Vijayawada and Guntakal Divisions jointly, Works – Vijayawada Division, Bridges – Vijayawada Division, Best Maintained DEMU/MEMU/EMU Shed – Vijayawada Division, Mechanical – Vijayawada and Secunderabad Divisions jointly, Best Loading Effort Shield – Vijayawada Division, Operating – Vijayawada Division and Signal & Telecommunication – Vijayawada Division.
Narendra A Patil, Divisional Railway Manager, Vijayawada Division received the General Manager’s Overall Efficiency shield for the Best Performance during the year 2022-2023. He said that this is the hard work and dedication of each and every staff of Vijayawada Division bagging a total of 11 Shields for its best performance during the year 2022-2023.
He dedicated this shield to the team spirit of Vijayawada Division.i Narendra Patil underscored that Passenger Safety, Elimination of Manned Level crossings, fortifying the existing infrastructure, ramping up traffic facilities and laying of new lines shall remain the top agenda and focus during the FY 2023-24.
DRM exhorted the field staff to continue to work in coordinated and constructive manner to ensure safety of passengers and also to continue to achieve best possible results.
