Zee News poll predicts BJP to come back in UP

The Zee News Opinion poll predicted that the BJP will return to power in Uttar Pradesh with a comfortable majority, in the ensuing assembly elections. The data reflected in the opinion poll states that BJP will be ahead of others with as much as 41 percent of total number of votes. 

BJP will be followed by Samajwadi Party, which is expected to get 34 percent of vote share, while BSP and Congress will be far behind with a vote share of 10 per cent and 6 per cent, respectively. 

The poll also indicates that the BJP alliance is likely to get 245 to 267 seats, followed by SP with 125 to 148 seats. Whereas, BSP and Congress have to settle with 5 to 9 and 3 to 7 seats, respectively. 

With regard to popularity of chief ministerial candidates, BJP’s present chief minister Yogi Adityanath is ahead of all others, with a popular support of 47 percent, whereas Akhilesh Yadav is having support of 35 percent. The popular support of Mayawati (BSP) is 9 percent and Priyanka Gandhi (Congress) is 5 percent. 


Earlier, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had expressed confidence that BJP will win the upcoming assembly polls with a “thumping majority”, garnering even more votes this time than the 2017 assembly polls in the state.
