Prime Minister Narendra Modi sounded BJP’s poll bugle in Telangana on Sunday as he launched a scathing attack on the BRS government over corruption, saying the state now wants a change. Speaking at a public meeting in Mahabubnagar, Modi said the BJP is committed to improving the lives of people in Telangana.

“In recent years, people of Telangana have strengthened BJP in Lok Sabha, Vidhan Sabha and civic elections. The huge crowd gathered here proves that Telangana wants a change. Telangana wants a change because it wants a transparent and corruption-free government, not false promises. Telangana now wants a BJP government…,” he said.

Hailing the women’s reservation bill which was recently passed in parliament, Modi said the law will strengthen the voice of women in parliament and state assemblies.

“The ‘Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam’ has been passed recently and now the voice of women will be strengthened more than before, not only in Parliament but in every state assembly,” he told a cheering crowd.

The prime minister also mentioned the recently launched PM Vishwakarma project, saying the scheme will give a new market and equipment to the Vishwakarma community.

“Telangana is a land of art, skill and culture. The products of Telangana are being liked in the world. Some days ago, I gifted a Bidri artwork to the President of South Africa. This has increased its importance in the world. There are many more such skills that need support. Recently, we launched the PM Vishwakarma Scheme… A lot of Vishwakarma friends earn with their skills. They have been neglected for decades… PM Vishwakarma will give a new market and equipment to Vishwakarma friends…” he said.

Earlier, the prime minister laid the foundation stone and dedicated to the nation, multiple developmental projects worth more than Rs 13,500 crore in Mahbubnagar. The projects  include important sectors like road, rail, petroleum and natural gas and higher education. Modi also flagged off a train service through video conferencing.
