Nationalist Congress Party chief Sharad Pawar, on Thursday, said the next meeting of opposition leaders will take place in Bengaluru on July 13 and 14. Pawar claimed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has become restless after the meeting of leaders from opposition parties in Patna.
The first meeting of opposition parties was hosted by Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar in Patna. After the meeting, Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge had announced that the next meeting of opposition leaders would be held in Shimla in Himachal Pradesh in July.
While Kumar had termed the meeting “positive”, it also showed fissures in the opposition unity as the Congress and the Aam Aadmi Party couldn’t come to an agreement on the Centre’s ordinance.
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and Rajya Sabha MPs Sanjay Singh and Raghav Chaddha, who represented AAP at the meeting, had skipped the press conference after the meeting, upset over Congress’ silence over the ordinance.
