The opposition has brought in the no-confidence motion against the Narendra Modi government to create confusion among people, Union Home Minister Amit Shah said on Wednesday.
Replying to a debate on the motion, which was brought in by the INDIA Alliance parties over the Manipur violence issue, Shah said the people and parliament have full confidence in the Modi government.
Shah termed Modi as the most successful prime minister in India, saying the people have voted him to power twice. “The no-confidence motion against Modi government was a politically motivated move,” he said.
“The prime minister has given new hope to the poor of this country. Nowhere in this country is there a whiff of no-confidence. There is not a no-confidence in the PM and this government in the country. People have complete faith in PM. This no-confidence motion has been brought only to create a delusion…. This no-confidence motion is politically motivated,” Shah said.
Dynasty and appeasement are the three ills of Indian politics, but the prime minister practices a politics of performance, the home minister said, adding that Modi has worked to enhance the prestige of India.
“After Independence, PM Modi’s government is the only one which won the trust of most of the people. PM Modi is the most popular leader among the public…PM Modi works tirelessly for the people of the country. He works continuously for 17 hours a day, without taking a single leave. People trust him,” he said in the lower house.
“Corruption Quit India, dynasty Quit India, appeasement Quit India,” Shah said as the NDA MPs in rousing chorus joined him to raise the slogans.
