The final day of the three-day SemiconIndia 2023 conference featured remarks by External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar, who emphasised the significance of the country’s growth in the electronics sector, particularly semiconductors, and India’s position in important and developing technologies.
He emphasised India’s expanding status as a reliable partner for global electronics manufacturing. The international partnerships with the US, Japan, and Australia as well as prospective opportunities with other nations who share similar views are crucial in this regard.
The three-day SemiconIndia 2023 Conference gathered a wide range of participants on its last day, including representatives from business, startups, academia, and the government. A robust, resilient, and sustainable semiconductor ecosystem is being developed as a result of the enlightening sessions and captivating speeches, which also highlighted the significance of key areas of semiconductor manufacturing.
As per India’s belief in ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’ or ‘One Earth, One Family, One Future,’ a dedicated panel discussion was held at the conference, which was led by Mr. Anshuman Tripathi, Member, NSCS and was held on “International Collaboration for Trusted and Resilient Semiconductor Supply Chain.”
The potential of global partnerships in enhancing the semiconductor industry, with a particular focus on India’s role in becoming a major player in semiconductor manufacturing, research, talent exchange, clean energy transitions and critical minerals exploration was explored.
Furthermore, a panel discussion was held on opportunities and challenges in emerging technologies, which featured notable experts. Along with it, an engaging discussion on the topic “Catalysing New India’s Techade” was also held. Moreover, panel discussions were organised on the readiness assessment for the semiconductor ecosystem.
The deliberations on “Global Semiconductor Talent Capital” explored the implementation of Semicon India FutureSkills Talent Roadmap for making India a Semiconductor Talent Nation.
According to Ms. Jaya Jagadish, AMD India, the second edition of SemiconIndia marked a significant shift, with the question changing from “Why invest in India” to “Why not invest in India” in the semiconductor industry, as noted by Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi.
By involving multinational corporations at the highest level of leadership and academia, the second edition of SemiconIndia has put India at the centre of the discourse on the future of technology in general and semiconductors in particular. It serves as the formal launch pad of India’s semiconductor journey, which aims to turn the country into a major global producer of electronics and semiconductors.
