The Union Cabinet on Wednesday cleared the expansion of the Ayushman Bharat scheme to persons over the age of 70 years, regardless of their income level – a major poll promise of the BJP during this year’s Lok Sabha elections. The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways on Tuesday announced a significant amendment to the National Highways Fee (Determination of Rates and Collection) Rules, 2008, benefitting private vehicle owners.
