Amid rising cases of coronavirus, Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya on Friday held a review meeting, and advised states to stay alert and be prepared for Covid-19 management. Foreign funds to the tune of Rs 1.5 crore are under the scanner of Union home ministry which has asked the CBI to probe the alleged violations of the foreign contribution regulation act (FCRA) by Oxfam India. The Supreme Court on Wednesday refused to entertain a petition filed by 14 political parties, led by the Congress, alleging that the central investigating agencies are being weaponized by the government to target opposition leader. A division bench of Chief Justice D.Y. Chandrachud and Justice J.B. Pardiwala said the court cannot issue general directions without a factual context. The court said it can intervene only in an individual case.
