Bar Council of India (BCI) on Sunday passed a resolution opposing the grant of legal recognition to same-sex marriages. Advocate and chairman of Bar Council of India, Manan Kumar Mishra said that same-sex marriage is against the culture of the country.  “Considering the socio-religious structure of the country, we thought it (same-sex marriage) is against our culture. Khalistani sympathiser Amritpal Singh, who has been on the run since March 18, was on Sunday arrested by the Punjab Police in Moga district. Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) and Indian Navy successfully conducted a maiden flight trial of a sea-based endo-atmospheric interceptor missile off the coast of Odisha in the Bay of Bengal. The flight trial of the missile was conducted. It said a cyclonic circulation lies over northwest Madhya Pradesh and another over interior Tamil Nadu. The Committee to Protect Journalists welcomes the Ecuadorian government’s commitment to fund and implement mechanisms that will advance press freedom and improve journalist safety in the country, following a meeting with representatives from CPJ and the local press freedom organization Fundamedios on Tuesday.
