The Gujarat High Court on Tuesday refused to pass an interim order on Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s plea seeking stay on two-year conviction awarded by a lower court in a defamation case. The gross Goods and Services Tax (GST) revenue collection grew by 12 per cent in April to Rs 1.87 lakh crore. It is the highest monthly mop-up since the rollout of the indirect tax regime in July 2017, the Ministry of Finance said in a statement. The previous high collection of Rs 1.68 lakh crore was in April last year. Eleven people have died after a a gas leak incident in the Giaspura area in this Punjab district on Sunday. The deceased include two children who were 10 and 13 years old. Four people have been hospitalised following the treatment, reported ANI. “A total of 11 persons are dead.
