The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) on Tuesday revealed details of one of its biggest drug seizures—15,000 blots of LSD, worth nearly Rs 10.5 crore. The anti-drug agency has arrested six people, including students, who were allegedly part of the pan-India drug trafficking network. LSD or lysergic acid diethylamide is a synthetic chemical based-drug and is categorised as a hallucinogen. According to reports, the network operated on the darknet, the deep dark side of the internet that is often used for illegal activities. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Tuesday began its probe at the accident site in Balasore, that had claimed 279 lives. A 10-member CBI team investigated the accident site to look at all possible reasons including “sabotage”. The team had inspected the tracks, signal room and talked to railway officials at Bahanaga Bazar station in Balasore. A forensic team also accompanied the CBI officials. Continuing its surge towards becoming the country’s top information technology destination, Telangana registered a stunning 31.44 per cent growth in IT exports and a jump of 16.29 per cent in job creation in the IT sector in the financial year 2022-2023.
