The finance ministry on Wednesday released Rs 7,532 crore to 22 state governments under the State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF) amid rain causing havoc in the northern parts of the country. The amount to states, including Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Uttrakhand and Maharashtra, has been released as per the recommendations of the Ministry of Home Affairs, the finance ministry said in a statement. J&K Police have arrested ten persons in Srinagar in connection with a conspiracy to revive the banned separatist Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) and the Hurriyat Conference. The GST Council on Tuesday agreed to levy a 28 per cent tax on online gaming, casinos and horse racing and the tax would be levied on full face value.
