The Central Bureau of Investigation on Saturday formally registered an FIR in connection with the case relating to the viral video of two women being paraded naked by a mob in Manipur, official sources said. Russia must stop its practice of designating media companies as `undesirable’, the International Press Institute (IPI) said. IPI made the call following Russia’s latest such designation, which targeted independent television broadcaster TV Rain. The Law Commission of India has received an overwhelming response to its notice inviting suggestions of the public at large and recognised religious institutions pertaining to the Uniform Civil Code (UCC), with over 75 lakh responses coming in.
