State-owned Oil India Limited (OIL) intends to invest Rs. 25,000 crore (US$ 3.01 billion) in clean energy projects that will help it achieve a net zero carbon emission goal by 2040, says Ranjit Rath, Chairman. In order to achieve net zero emissions, Oil India Limited (OIL) will reduce gas flaring, commercialize stranded gas, set up renewable energy production capacity, construct green hydrogen plants, and create biogas and ethanol factories. An investigation revealed that the phone of Galina Timchenko, an exiled Russian journalist who heads independent news website Meduza, was infected by NSO Group’s Pegasus surveillance spyware while she was in Germany earlier this year.
