In connection with the ‘cash for query’ case, the Lok Sabha Ethics Committee has recommended TMC MP Mahua Moitra’s expulsion from Lok Sabha. In what could be a huge setback to Trinamool Congress MP Mahua Moitra, the parliament ethics committee has reportedly recommended termination of her Lok Sbaha membership and a detailed probe into the cash-for-query allegations. The panel, headed by BJP MP Vinod Kumar Sonkar, will meet on Thursday to adopt its draft report. The Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ) is alarmed by the Democratic Republic of Congo authorities’ insistence on keeping journalist Stanis Bujakera Tshiamala behind bars and urges the approval of a second expert opinion on the evidence presented against him in the interest of fairness. On Tuesday, the Kinshasa/Gombe court rejected Bujakera’s third request for provisional release, one of the journalist’s lawyers, Charles Mushizi, told CPJ.
