Unified Payment Interface (UPI) transactions reached a new value peak in January, totaling US$ 221.9 billion (Rs. 18.41 trillion), a marginal 1% increase from December’s US$ 219.8 (Rs. 18.23 trillion). A Ranchi court on Thursday sent former Jharkhand chief minister Hemant Soren to one-day judicial custody in a land scam case. Soren was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate on Wednesday night following nearly seven-hour long questioning as part of its probe into the money laundering allegations.
