Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who addressed the NDA allies at the key meeting in New Delhi on Tuesday, expressed confidence that in 2024 Lok Sabha elections, their alliance will get over 50 per cent vote share.

“NDA’s vote share was 38 per cent in 2014 and 45 per cent in 2019. In the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, NDA’s vote share will be above 50 per cent because of its allies who are working hard,” said PM Modi.

Addressing the allies, PM Modi said, “I can tell you with full confidence that NDA will come to power in 2024 as people know its chemistry and history.” “You all know mood of nation is in NDA’s favour, global powers also believe people’s mandate is for our alliance,” he added.

He asserted that “NDA not a coalition of compulsions but a symbol of contributions… its ideology puts national security, progress, empowerment of people first.”

Leaders of 38 parties joined a meeting of the BJP-led NDA in New Delhi, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi asserting that the bloc is a time-tested alliance that seeks to further national progress and fulfil regional aspirations.

Modi was welcomed by BJP president J P Nadda, Shiv Sena leader and Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, former Tamil Nadu chief minister and AIADMK leader K Palaniswami and Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio.

Prime Minister Modi said the coming together of NDA allies is a matter of “immense joy”. He tweeted, “It is a matter of immense joy that our valued NDA partners from across India will be attending the meeting in Delhi today. Ours is a time-tested alliance which seeks to further national progress and fulfil regional aspirations.”

Union minister Pralhad Joshi and BJP general secretary Vinod Tawde welcomed the leaders, from the BJP as well as allies, who arrived at the venue of the meeting. This was the first such meeting of the National Democratic Alliance during the second term of the Modi government.

It underscores the ruling party’s focus on highlighting its ability to make alliances at a time when opposition parties were coming together to take on the BJP in the 2024 Lok Sabha polls.
