Minister of Defence Rajnath Singh said that DefExpo 2022 symbolises India’s strong will to protect the country and that the country would become a global defence manufacturing hub in the next 25 years. Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched DefExpo 2022 at the Mahatma Mandir Convention and Exhibition Centre in Gandhinagar.

DefExpo 2022, India’s “largest ever” defence show, is being hosted in Gandhinagar, Gujarat, with the goal of boosting the defence sector. In his opening remarks, the Defence Minister stated that Path to Pride is not just a theme of this Expo, but a new goal for New India.

The Prime Minister commented on the organisation of DefExpo2 2022, saying that it offers a picture of New India and its potential, whose resolve is being created during Amrit Kaal. He went on to say that it is a combination of the country’s progress and state cooperation.

There will also be a unique Innovations for Defence Excellence (iDEX) Pavilion to demonstrate the capabilities of the country’s start-ups engaged in R&D and innovation in futuristic technology.

States and Union Territories (UTs) have been asked to build up pavilions at the event for the first time. The Defence Minister has emphasised that under this new effort, states and UTs will be able to participate in nation-building by attracting investment and enhancing their indigenous aerospace and defence manufacturing capabilities.
