The Women Athletes of Vijayawada Division representing South Central Railway Athletic team made us all proud by securing many medals at the 87th All India Railway Athletic Championship held at Rae from August 29 to 31.
Four Female Athletes of Vijayawda Division have shown outstanding performance and secured One Gold & Seven Silver Medals in various athletic events at National Level.
G.Karthika, Senior Clerk, Commercial Department has won One GOLD MEDAL in Triple Jump(12.88mts), Two SILVER MEDALS in Long Jump(6.10mts) and 4X100mts relay.
M.Sowmiya, Junior Clerk, Engineering Department has secured Three SILVER MEDALS in 100mts Hurdles, Heptathlon and 4X100mts relay. Preethi Lamba, Junior Clerk, Engineering Department has secured One SILVER MEDAL in 3000 steeplechase.
M.Akila, Junior Clerk, Mechanical Development has secured one SILVER MEDAL in 4X100mts Relay. Because of their outstanding and brilliant performance, SCR Women Athletes team secured 3rd position in “Over all Championship” at the All India Railway Athletic Championship.
