The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) announced on May 24 that Secretary of MoHFW, Mr. Rajesh Bhushan, has been named head of committee B at the 75th World Health Assembly. Committee B mainly discusses administrative and financial matters of the World Health Organization.
This year, Committee B will discuss and prepare reports on a number of important topics, including health conditions in the occupied Palestinian territory including east Jerusalem and Syrian Golan, the World Health Organization’s budget for the years 2022-2023, sexual exploitation prevention, and WHO reforms, among other topics.
The World Health Organization’s aims and priorities are determined by the 194 member states. Every year, the World Health Assembly considers a large and complicated list of health concerns and solutions.
