Strongly refuting West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s accusations that he caused “irrigation” to her with frequent `improper’ tweets, Governor Jagdeep Dhankar challenged are to show a single such tweet, sent by him.

Stating that her allegations made while announcing blocking him on her Twttier, he asserted that her allegations are all baseless.  He also deplored that it was unfortunate that the media did not question the claims made by her. He saidd that it is ‘a challenge to the democracy,’ as political leaders are not being questioned.

“She made the wildest of allegations that the governor tweets her every day. I haven’t sent a single tweet”, he asserted. He challenged her to point out a single document tweet by him, which is abusive or unjustified.

Earlier, revealing her decision to block Dhankhar on Twitter, Mamata alleged that “I had no option. I am sorry about this. (I blocked him). Because, I used to get irritated seeing his (governor’s) tweet every day, abuse officials and sometimes abuse and accuse me. He does these things by speaking in abusive, unethical and unconstitutional way”. She also leveled allegation that Pegasus spywareis being used from Raj Bhawan.

Strongly denouncing all accusations made by Mamata against him, including that he orders food from Taj Bengal every day, Governor asserted that there is no file pending on his table. If there are pending issue, he said it was due to aviating replies from her government.

The tussle between the Governor and the Mamata Banerjee-led government has been ongoing since he took oath in July 2019. Banerjee has hit out at him saying, ‘a BJP leader has come to Bengal who does not even have the courtesy to return a salutation.’  Dhankhar has alleged that Banerjee was ‘humiliating him on every occasion’ and was not briefing him regularly.
