BJP Member of Parliament from Bhopal Sadhvi Pragya Singh Thakur has tested Covid positive.
“Today, my corona report has come positive. I am under the care of doctors. All those who have come in contact with me over the last 2 days are urged to be alert and also get tested, if required. Praying to the Lord for your health,” she tweeted. 

Renowned playback singer Lata Mangeshkar is now cured of Covid and pneumonia, said Dr Pratik Samdani, who is leading the team of doctors attending her.Mangeshkar (92) was admitted to the intensive care unit of the Breach Candy Hospital in south Mumbai in the first week of January after she contracted Covid-19. Dr Samdani said that she continues to be in the ICU and off ventilator.

Meanwhile, schools reopened in Bengaluru on Monday and classes were conducted with Covid-9 norms, including wearing masks, using sanitisers and maintaining social distance, in place. On a day when many states began the drive to administer the second dose of the Covid-19 vaccine to the age group of 15-18 years, India administered over 166 crore vaccines in total.

While the number of doses given in the last 24 hours was 28 lakh, 1.18 crore booster doses have been administered since January 10.India reported 2.09 lakh new Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours, sharply down from Sunday’s 2.34 lakh infections.

The active case load now stands at 18,31,268 while the recovery rate marginally rose to 94.37 per cent.The weekly and daily positivity rates are 15.77 and 15.75 percent respectively. The daily and weekly positivity rates were at 14.5 percent and 16.4 per cent respectively on Sunday.
