BJP State president and Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy demanded that the BRS president and Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao must write letter to the Centre asking for Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) inquiry on the Kaleshwaram. He wondered why the Chief Minister was silent on the issue.

Speaking to reporters at Medigadda after visiting the project, Kishan Reddy said that the future of the project became a question mark which was propagated with much hype in discovery channel by spending crores of rupees.

“The project was constructed by spending Rs. 1 lakh corre, which was borrowed from various sources. Now the future of the project has become bleak. Pillars have developed cracks and the road on the bridge become dangerous. Engineering, design, quality, maintenance and operations have totally failed”, he said.

“We had written a letter to the Jala Shakthi Minister Gajendra Singh Shekawat. They had sent an expert team immediately. After examining the team had submitted a report,” he added. He said that it was stated that single stone under the pillars was totally damaged and condition of other pillars become dangerous. Informing that Annaram barrage also facing similar problems with water leaking hugely, the Minister even one tmcft water could not be stored in these barrages.

Stating that the project cost was escalated from Rs. 40,000 crore to Rs. 1.3 lakh  crore, he said that even spending huge amounts the quality of these projects was poor making the future of the project a question mark.

“Public money was wasted and by constructing poor quality project. Engineers and experts were forced to shut their mouths. The people of Telangana were facing problems due the knowledge of a man who studied 80,000 books and unilateral decisions. There was a need to order an inquiry by high level delegation,” said Kishan Reddy.
